Who Are We?

Haddington Press is a small independent publisher of high quality non-fiction books for adults, focussing in particular on histories, biographies and other non-fiction topics.

General Publishing Proposals

We will endeavour to promptly review and respond to any publishing proposal that complies with the criteria set out below.

Information to be supplied with a Publishing Proposal

We are a very small publisher and do not have the resources to review unsolicited manuscripts. However, we will review and respond to any publishing proposal that contains the following information:

A brief author resume;
Table of contents and a brief synopsis;
Details about the manuscript's word length, illustrations, if any, and unique formatting issues, if any;
A brief description of your book's market potential, including competitive publications and why your book is different, the potential size of the market for your book, any ideas that you may have for the book's promotion and any special ability you personally may be able to utilise in the promotion of the book.

If you wish us to return any of this material to you, please enclose a self-addressed and stamped envelope with your covering letter.

Special Projects

Individuals or organisations who wish to commission our services for the design and publication of a special project book are invited to contact us separately with their requirements.
